About

Laura is a musician with a deep love for music and a desire to share and cultivate that passion in others. She holds degrees from Brevard College and the University of Colorado, Boulder, as well as the Certificate of Vocology from the National Center for Voice and Speech in Salt Lake City. She’s currently serving as Assistant Professor of Practice at Western Carolina University. She has had the honor of performing and teaching internationally in Germany, Tunisia, China, and Chile, and has served on the faculties of several music and voice programs, including those at CU Denver and the International College of Beijing. As a soloist or ensemble alto, Laura has performed with esteemed organizations such as the International Bach Akademie, Oregon Bach Festival, Colorado Bach Ensemble, and the Charlotte Bach Festival.

Having undergone years of vocal trauma, multiple vocal surgeries and habilitation, Laura has a deep understanding of the emotional and physical challenges that vocal pathologies can bring. In her work with singers, she uses her extensive experience, education, and training in the Alexander Technique to help them cultivate awareness, connect with their natural vocal abilities, and find their voices again.
